Men’s Therapy Groups Address Distorted Masculinity

In my work at the Men’s Resource Center, a primary issue has been male socialization and the distorted masculinity that most men live with. In a recent blog post, What it Means to be a “Real” Man, I discuss how men’s therapy groups can address issues of masculinity and release men from anxiety and shame.

Listening to one another in the group, men learn to choose between behavior that blocks intimacy — control and avoidance — to behavior that invites intimacy — acceptance and compassion.
